Welcome to the best online resource for
martial arts instructors and students.
It doesn't matter if you run a karate club in Melbourne or a Kung fu club in Sydney or a martial arts school anywhere in Australia the International Martial Arts Alliance membership will help you. Instructors can network with other martial art school owners all over the globe. They can gain higher martial arts qualifications, obtain the cheapest prices on insurance and discounts on so many other products as part of your membership. Being a professional martial arts instructor you will find no better friend than the International Martial Arts Alliance, so read on and follow the links.
The International Martial Art Alliance (IMA), originally the (IKA) International Karate Alliance was established in 1993 by current Chairman Graham Slater, 6th Dan. The IMA focuses on providing services to make martial art school owners more profitable and assists them in developing a multitude of skills. The IMA is currently working with over 700 schools and associations, equating to over 62,000 members in Australia alone as of June 2007.
The International Martial Art Alliance (IMA) is made up of all the traditional styles and a multitude of hybrid / modern freestyle arts. Membership is a partnership between the alliance and its members to work together in expanding the industry in order to gain more students for the member and gain more members for the alliance.
The International Martial Art Alliance (IMA) has positioned it self as more than just an association, providing vital services that instructors have found hard to find, under the one roof. Recognising that the martial art industry was badly lacking in many services for school owners. The International Martial Art Alliance is now the One Stop Shop for School Owners. Catering to the requests of its members and working with other associations more as a Service Provider supporting martial artists by obtaining huge savings (group deals) on relevant products and services. It has been especially successful in bringing down the price on martial arts insurance. The IMA with its sheer numbers has been able to negotiate group deals and obtain various discounts through strategic alliances with several Business Partners.
Recognised by industry as a peak body through instructors' banding together it is clear that the rewards are plentyful as members can now obtain: Instructor Certification (Association endorsement), Access to an International Network (Free Advertising), Martial Arts Insurance (Cheapest, safest & best terms), Nationally Recognised Qualifications (Cert II - Advanced Diploma at discounted rates), Grading / Rank Promotions (Highly creditable system), Marketing Support (The best in the country to help make your school grow), Financial Services (Lower interest rates on loans, credit cards, as a merchant etc), Student Fee Collection has never been easier or as cost effective as EZI DEBIT, Travel Services (Student rates & discounted insurance), Multi Media Production (Discounted filming, DVDs, + develop extra revenue), Industry Video Magazine ‘Interactive Martial Arts’ (Publications and a TV Show to showcase instructors), Industry News (Keeping you in the loop via email, newsletters and our magazine). Well that is just for starters.
International Martial Art Alliance (IMA) is the fastest growing martial arts association in Australia boosting anything from 3 to 15 new martial art school owners (members) every week.
On an educational level the International Martial Art Alliance was established to create a safe, non-political and friendly learning environment whereby martial art instructors of all styles from all countries could come together and share their experiences and techniques in a literal melting pot of martial arts knowledge. It is a place where everyone is treated the same, irrespective of rank, title or years of experience, creating a warm atmosphere of respect and courtesy for all.
Members train together (distance permitting) on a regular basis in small and large training circles, each taking it in turns to demonstrate their martial art and teach various topics. Participants are free to accept, reject or take home the information that is shown in these meetings. Credible gradings are available to all styles via a panel of highly ranked and qualified martial artists that is put together upon an application.
The group is interested in communicating with all martial artists and sharing knowledge in many ways. Visitor are welcome to take anything from this site to use for yourself, however we do offer you the opportunity to give something in return. Yes, money is always good (pay your membership) but how about information? Submit articles, photos, video footage via email or by post and share your knowledge with the masses. If you would like to contribute financially you can and you will find twelve good reasons to join to do so for just a nominal fee.
This site hopes to provide all its visitors with information to progress in their chosen martial art. For a start have a look in our Articles Section and view the techniques which will be updated every month. In the Calendar Section there are seminars, tournaments, camps, overseas training tours and other activities open to all martial artists to participate in. If you like the site and or would like to be a part of the IMA please drop me a line and join now!
Happy surfin
Graham Slater
