Rob's martial arts career began at the Wodonga Police Youth Centre in Victoria where he trained in a basic Karate system until joining the Australian Regular Army in 1976. "There was nothing around in those days so you accepted what ever was available."
In 1979 he commenced training in the Unarmed Combat Instructors course then resulted in Rob becoming the Physical Training and Unarmed Combat Instructor for the Military Police Corps.
Rob has had the opportunity and privilege to train within various Martial arts organisations under the most elite instructors within there specialised organisations such as Kyoshi Bob Jones (who taught him that any thing can be achieved), Billy Manne (for the hardness and dedication of a true martial artist), Malcolm Anderson (simplicity and speed), Roland Dantes (Amis and Kali], Bruce Haynes (whose loyalty and friendship has helped to put the mon grel in himl, Kyoshi Tino Ceberano (who has shown him through loyalty and friendship that it is not the style but the man), Major John Whipp - Chief Instructor unarmed combat army (showing a will to win and never give up).
Budo-Jitsu evolved when Rob formed Close Quarter Combat for the Australian Defence Force, Military Police and the United Nations dealing with body guarding and has developed into an awesome, complete and pragmatic martial arts system, as we know it today.
It must be emphasised this is not a sport but a combat, reality-based organisation. You will not find students preparing for world titles, or Olympic selection on our floors. Nor will you find hundreds of schools scattered indiscriminately throughout Australia. What you will discover is people train ing together striving towards a common goal under the strict guidance of nationally accredited instructors.
