Last year was busy with a lot of new members and moving to bigger premises. We also introduced new services and have more to offer this year so keep checking out this page and making sure you are on our email list. We have a few important things to talk about so keep reading below:

For many instructors the beginning of the year means their martial arts insurance is coming up for renewal and wondering if anything has changed, hopefully a price drop. We have actually kept the industry prices down for the past 10 years and have been offering further loyalty and qualification discounts. Please call us to find out what your options are and you don't have to be a MAA Member to get good prices however the best prices are member rates. It doesn't matter who you have insurance with at the moment we guarantee we will save you money on the same cover.
Player Accident and Income Protection Insurance the savour of many schools. Public Liability and Professional Indemnity or the watered down version Errors & Omissions has been the preferred option for martial arts instructors because its cheaper. Lately this has changed with schools taking up the option even half way through their current PL & PI policy. Instructors are realising that this extra layer of cover is very useful with over 20 schools wishing they had taken it out at the beginning. There has been a number of claims last year with dental work and knee reconstructions being very costly items, especially when the instructor is hit with the bill. Instructors and Students can be covered for less than $10 per person so find out if this is the right option for your business.
Australian Martial Arts Coaching Scheme (AMACS) has been up and running for several months offering instructors a great alternative to NCAS and other coaching / fitness courses. As part of our commitment to assisting school owners we will be running both free and subsidised business seminars around Australia covering units from the AMACS courses and our own multi media marketing material. As we travel we will be interviewing instructors and looking for exciting video footage for our new TV programs. There are four insurance players in the industry and pricing / products do vary a lot and it is our job to constantly research and review packages. As most of you know we shop around for the best insurance deals as you do, and we let you know what is available. Our membership has grown around 35% during the year which means we can offer cheaper pricing and extended cover from our group buying facility. We can also help you by providing an appropriate waiver and policy/procedures that match up to OH&S laws, your duty of care and insurance company’s requirements.
