Our accreditation process takes into account an instructor's existing qualifications and experience and can be obtained by simply become an MAA Member and getting the status without any extra costs. If an instructor doesn't meet what is deemed as the industry standard for a coach we have a number of options for them (case by case). One of the options is to complete one of the AMACS courses (there are three levels).
How is the accreditation process applied?
We take into account an instructor's experience (how long they have been training), their grade, any coaching courses both inhouse and external including certificate courses Cert II - Degree etc,
Certified Practising Instructor (CPI) status is most sort after position for a martial arts instructor because it is gaining recognition from multiple areas and holds a high commercial value. The Australia Martial Arts Coaching System (AMACS) plays an important role in securing this position.

WHAT IS THE CRITERIA?
CPI - 5yrs MA experience / NRT qualification = Accredited Coach
CSI - 10yrs MA experience / Cert III+ qualification = Senior Accredited Coach
CMI - 15yrs MA experience / Cert IV+ qualification = Master Accredited Coach

Instructors looking to get higher Dan Grades to contact us now. We have lots of requests from instructors wanting to undertake higher Dan gradings and we schedule them twice per year or as requested. We now work with the International Board of Kanchos (IBOK) to offer the ultimate degree of expertise on the Master Panel to assess and guide you.
In the past our Founder Graham Slater and other Regional Directors have flown interstate on very short notice to coordinate grading panels and run seminars but unfortunately These days we to spend most of my time stuck in the office that's why we only do the gradings twice per year so we can allocate exclusive time to the process.
I feel we have a better system with IBOK to make these Gradings more creditable, accessible and prestigious event.
Embarking on your next Dan grade in my opinion should be a very memorable occasion as one would have put in a lot of hard work and sacrifice to reach. That said, how you perform and who witnesses your presentation is of real importance. You want to give it everything you have irrespective of whether you pass or fail and you want to be acknowledged by people you respect and respect you for your courage.
The IMA / MAA Grading system has been roughly based on the international karate timeline systems of the following timelines and is priced to cover the expertise required to sit on the panel to examine masters by senior/grandmasters. The pricing also includes specialised training / mentoring and filming of the event with certificate presentation. If you pass the grading you can be sure you can wear the level achieved worldwide with pride knowing that you have been evaluated by the most experienced and creditable masters in the country.

We only do 1st Dan Black Belt if it is under the guidance of your Chief Instructor as a special arrangement. In order to be graded under our system you need to be an independent Black Belt or be referred to us by another MAA Member to qualify.

If there are a number of people being graded at the same time we can reduce these costs.
APPLICANTS CAN REQUEST A TESTING PROCEDURE SO THEY CAN PREPARE TO MEET THE MASTER PANEL
Our panel of masters believe it is a preveledge to sit in front of you and watch the presentation of your art. We observe and make comment of your performance to give candidates support in ther pursuit of personal development. At the successful completion of your presentation the masters will offer direction / support before issuing a certificate. This certificate signed by the Masters will be a grade / rank that the panel feel you can confidently wear in your given art.
