Who We Are
Australia's Largest Peak Body For Martial Arts,
Built On 30+ Years Of Trust.
One founder's decades in the industry, a clear mission, and a team that runs it every day.
How We Got Here
From A Circle Of Knowledge To Australia's Largest Martial Arts Organisation.
In the mid-1980s, a small group of senior instructors started meeting to share knowledge, solve common business problems and support each other long before there was any formal organisation behind it.
That circle grew into the International Karate Alliance in 1993, then expanded into the International Martial Arts Alliance within a few years as it welcomed other styles and systems. Martial Arts Australia was established as the national home for that work, giving Australian instructors a genuine one-stop shop for insurance, business support, accreditation, software and industry media.
Three decades on, we're still run by instructors, for instructors a national peak body funded by membership and commercial services, reinvested back into the industry.
