SPONSORSHIP

In the Spirit It’s Meant to Be Given

Martial Arts Australia sponsors clubs, events, and instructors using membership subscriptions and our own advertising and sponsorship revenue, not because it’s expected, but because we’ve seen firsthand what a struggling club can become with a bit of genuine support behind it. This isn’t charity in the impersonal sense. It’s an investment in people we believe in, and a partnership we take seriously on both sides.

PARTNERSHIP

A Genuine Partnership, Not a Handout

We don’t see sponsorship as a one-way transaction, and we don’t expect applicants to either. The instructors who get the most out of this and who we’re most glad to support, are the ones who see it the same way we do: as a relationship built on mutual respect, not an entitlement.

When you apply, we genuinely want to understand a few things about:

These aren’t box-ticking questions, they’re how we make sure the support we give lands somewhere it will genuinely be put to good use. A thoughtful, complete answer tells us more about who you are as an operator than any qualification on paper ever could.

If you’re chosen, you’re never obligated to publicise that MAA supported you, but many past recipients have chosen to, in small ways: a mention in their newsletter, a shout-out at a presentation night, an invitation to an event, a logo on a flyer or uniform. None of that is required. But if sponsorship has genuinely helped your club, we’d always rather know it mattered to you than hear nothing at all, gratitude costs nothing, and it’s part of what keeps this kind of support sustainable for the next club that needs it.

Community

Our Charity Initiative

Some of our sponsorship goes further than individual clubs, supporting a charitable initiative to raise awareness and funds for children disadvantaged by their circumstances. We ask participating school owners to work directly with the relevant charities, their social workers, psychologists, and support staff, to deliver genuinely new programs in their local community. Funds raised through the event, combined with government funding allocated to the charities involved, go directly toward these programs.

This kind of initiative has a real ripple effect across the industry, showing that school owners care enough about their community to contribute meaningfully, not just profitably. In practice, that means schools involved often work at a reduced rate, or run some sessions entirely free, as their contribution. In return, schools receive genuine free advertising and a real opportunity to introduce new students to their club.

CLUB & PROMOTERS

Sponsorship for Clubs, Associations & Promoters

Martial Arts Australia also sponsors clubs and associations directly through subsidised and in some cases entirely free, insurance policies. Event promoters can also apply to have their event filmed by us, receive subsidised insurance costs, and access free advertising through our channels. Sponsorship is not offered directly to clubs every year, it may be allocated to events, community services and charities.

Our largest sponsorship contribution has been $13,700 in one year with these funds being directly linked, to a percentage of the membership and associated services revenue each year.

READY TO APPLY?

We’d genuinely love to help more clubs than we currently can

The best way to make sure your application gets real consideration is to take the time to answer both questions properly and honestly.

Tell us who you are, what you know about us, and exactly how the support would flow through to your students. That’s it.

That’s the whole ask.
